In their first update of the new year, Darkest Hour has announced their plans to begin recording the follow up to Hidden Hands of the Sadist Nation:

[P]re-production for the next Darkest Hour record has begun. Darkest Hour will be entering the studio in late February with producer, Devin Townsend and recording for all of March. We will be adding a new little section to the web site with photos and we will be updating the news section with a little studio diary. Look for the new Darkest Hour record to hit stores early this summer! If your interested in the new material, Here is what the band has to say:
