The new (International) Noise Conspiracy website has posted some updates from the band. Of note is a statement on why 2004's Armed Love still has no US release date:
We have definitely encountered some obstacles and setbacks along the way, which is why up to this point Armed Love has only been available in Europe and on the internet. The release that was supposed to have taken place in the United States in June of last year (and then in August, and then in October, and then in February…) has been delayed due to the fact that American Recordings (to whom we are signed) decided to leave Island/Def Jam and instead team up with Warner Brothers. This transition has taken a long time to happen, and it has surely been frustrating for us not being able to do proper tours of most of the world. This process is however in it's final stages, so we are hoping that a release date can soon be set to a not so distant future (meaning hopefully it will be out this summer). Until then we will be in the United States and Canada for most of May and early June, touring in support of …and you will know us by the Trail of Dead.
The dates with …And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead were announced earlier. The band also commented on their visit to China, a rumored trop to Australia and their summer festival appearances.
Tour in China
So what a band can do when the "proper" tours are done is of course to take the roads less traveled, and therefore we decided to celebrate the new year by revisiting the Peopleâs Republic of China. Having not been there since our very first tour in the spring of 1999, it was incredibly exciting to see the changes that have taken place in the country, and to witness the underground music scene that have been emerging. It is always inspiring to see what can be created through the ambitions, the willingness and the stubbornness of people getting together, and our gratitude goes out to everyone who made it possible for us to come back. Next time weâll figure out a way to elude the authorities and play in Wuhan too!The Australia Rumor
Yes, we have heard them too, but we will not be going to Australia in May. In light of the great time we had playing there in late 2002 though, we are excited to come back as soon as the time is right.Summer Festivals etc
We will be playing a string of festivals all around Europe this summer, and we've also confirmed a few shows supporting Die Toten Hosen in Germany in early May.
