Orange Island have announced their breakup on their Myspace site. The following message was posted:

By now some of you may have or have not heard the rumors about Orange Island breaking up. Well, the rumors are true. There has been no official announcement until now. After a long hiatus it has been decided to lay the band to rest. Thank you very much to all of you who have supported us and have been a part of this crazy adventure. Our website orangeisland.net is no more but we will be keeping our MySpace and PureVolume page active for remembrance. We will let everyone know if we do a final show but right now there's not one in the works. By all means this does not mean we all quit playing music. For every closed chapter, opens a new one. We'll keep you posted on all future, post O/I projects."

The band's last release was last year's Rise-released EP, The Morning After.
