On July 12th, MVD will be releasing Kick out the Jam, a 35 minute DVD featuring material from legendary proto-punk act the MC5. The film will include "many never before seen films of the MC5 as created by Leni Sinclair & conceptual artist Cary Loren during the peak of their career."

Featured material includes "Kick Out The Jams," "Come Together," "Looking At You," and more. The DVD will include bonus features such as a "wild"interview with MC5 manager/agitator/activist John Sinclair."

A modern incarnation of the MC5 has been touring in recent years under the moniker DKT-MC5 and includes surviving members guitarist Wayne Kramer, bassist Michael Davis and drummer Dennis "Machine Gun" Thompson along with guest vocalists like Evan Dando, Marshall Crenshaw, Mudhoney's Mark Arm, Radio Birdman's Deniz Tek and The Hellacopters' Nicke Royale. Original vocalist Rob Tyner passed away in 1991.
