Our friend Mitch Clem of Nothing Nice to Say has posted some information about an upcoming collection of strips to be published by Young American Comics.

[The book will include] the first 3 or so years of the series (specifically, every comic from before my most recent comeback, which is somewhere around 200 strips). The book is going to feature brand new commentary on most of the strips, probably a couple essays relating to themes in the comic, and probably some additional illustrations and strips that I never published and fun stuff like that. You know, actual incentive to buy the thing, not just reprints of stuff you can read online anyway.

However, due to quality printing concerns, Clem has embarked on a plan to redraw all two hundred strips, he has posted some samples of the results in his blog (about half way down.) While the individual strips will be redrawn for the collection, the originals will continue to be available in their current form on the website. Due to the magnitude of the project, Mitch has not announced a release date but promises publication "by the end of the year."
