It has been announced that Ted Leo and the Pharmacists will play the kickoff for the coming month of benefit shows to save legendary NYC venue CBGBs on August 1st. The show, presented by Little Steven's Underground Garage, will take place at CB's 313 Gallery at 9pm and will also feature Swingin Neckbreakers, the Willowz, the Five Maseratis and the Star Spangles. Tickets go on sale this coming Sunday July 31st at 6 PM via TicketWeb.
Earlier that evening Ted Leo is listed to appear as part of a "Ramones Jam" alongside Blondie's Debbie Harry, Handsome, the Rattlers, the Waldos, Swingin Neckbreakers and the Star Spangles. That event will take place at 7 PM at CBGBs itself, again with all proceeds going to the fund.
