Though they only recently signed to Yellowcard guitarist Ben Harper's Takeover Records, Staring Back has announced that they have called it a day after the departure of guitarist Ryan Mendez. Mendez recently joined Yellowcard for some of their tour dates in Japan.
The band posted the following statement on their website:
We regret to announce that after almost eight years as a band, Staring Back has come to an end. Ryan has decided to move on from the band. To the fans - we love you and can't thank you enough for your continued support over the years, and we sincerely apologize and wish you the best. If you are interested in knowing more, there will be statements up on the message board soon from the members with their thoughts regarding the situation.
The band had previously issued three releases via Lobster including 2002's On, their previous full length Many Will Play and their debut The Mean Streets of Goleta.
