The Slackers have announced that February 21, 2006 will see a new studio full length release on Hellcat Records. This will be the band's 6th release for the label. No other details on the album have been announced at this time. The band released Close My Eyes in 2003.

Many of the band's current side-projects are nearing completion. The Slackers' dub CD Afternoon in Dub is out now in Europe on Echo Beach Records. A US version is in manufacturing and will be available in about three weeks through Special Potato / Do Tell Records. Also the band has released their new live album Slack In Japan, with info available at DiskUnion.net. It is expected that the Japanese release will not be widely availible in North America.

An upcoming September 30th concert in Brooklyn is set to become a fundraiser for the disaster in New Orleans. Details are currently being confirmed so check back for more info.
