Thursday has posted some updates on their website about the progress of recording, the leaking of some early demos and their stance on file sharing.
Regarding the demo leak, the band seems fairly nonchalant, saying:
Many of you know that Thursday is one of the few bands that actually supports file sharing. […] These demos, however, weren't ready for anyone to hear. These songs have all changed substantially since those demos and will probably change between now and the recording.
The band has also provided some "annotations" for those early demos explaining a little of what was at work while they were writing and recording them. That information can be found on their official website
The band also recently announced the producer for the upcoming follow up to their Island debut War All the Time. They have chosen producer Dave Fridmann who has also worked with Flaming Lips, Weezer, Mogwai and Sleater-Kinney. They hope to begin recording this October.
Finally, Thursday has also opened up the design process for their upcoming T-Shirt for the Shirts for a Cure project. The winning design will be featured on the charity organization's website, and the band promises "a fistful of signed Thursday merchandise" to the winning designer.
To enter the contest, designers are asked to send their entries to thursday@shirtsforacure.com before judging begins on October 4th.
