The JonBenét have announced a few dates this month and next in support of their Pluto Records debut, The Plot Thickens.

The band also addresses criticisms about the appropriateness of their chosen name in a recent posting to their website, saying that:

In my mind, we've taken a name associated with tragedy and murder and attached it to a creative outlet for our art in an effort to condition people to think of a band instead of a brutal murder when they hear it. Plenty of bands have names that are potentially offensive and I never hear anything about it: The Black Dahlia Murder, Ed Gein, Dead Kennedys [and] The Plot to Blow Up the Eiffel Tower. Norma Jean is named after a dead girl. No one thinks twice about it. I hear 'Norma Jean' or 'Ed Gein' now, i think of a band, not a dead actress or a serial killer. Simply put, it's a pretty name that no one will forget.
