After remaining relatively low key following the death of bassist Hideaki Sekiguchi earlier this year, Japan's Guitar Wolf has announced the addition of a new bassist as well as a North American version of their retrospective release, Golden Black: Guitar Wolf's Greatest Hits which was released today. The disc compiles favorite album and non-album tracks as selected by fans in an online poll.
The band has enlisted bassist UG and the band told Pitchfork:
He's this 19-year-old hooligan who had never picked up a bass before he joined the band. He's going to add a whole new element to their sound. It's going to be a lot more raw.
