Sum 41 will soon release, Rocked: Sum 41 in the Congo. The DVD documents the popular Ajax, Ontario-based band when they visited the country to produce a documentary only to be evacuated as the country erupted into a Civil War in June of 2004.
The experience was reflected both in the lyrical content and the title of their most recent release, Chuck and all proceeds from the DVD will be directed to War Child Canada, a humanitarian organization seeking to protect children from the horrors of war.
The band told ChartAttack:
This isn't a documentary about a rock band from Ajax, Ontario dodging bullets. It is the story of a war that has left more than three million people dead. It is also the story of what we need to do as global citizens, and as Canadians, in order to help bring an end to this senseless tragedy.
War Child has released a sneak preview/trailer for the disc, and you can find that here.
