Pop-punk stalwarts The Queers have set a number of dates to round out the end of the year. The long-running band recently completed a trip to Australia and have some time booked soon to begin work on their next full length. For the next album, the pop-punk act is planning to enlist the help of Lisa Marr, JJ Rassler and Ben Weasel who will also contribute in some way to the record which will be recorded in Chicago.
Besides that, the band has joined numerous defectors from the troubled Lookout Records camp with plans to re-release much of their older material via Asian Man Records. That label was responsible for a full slate of Screeching Weasel releases throughout 2005.
Joining the band on the tour will be horror-ska act The Independents, who have been supporting a reissue of Back From the Grave with more tracks and new artwork by Darren Marinuk. The 2002 album is also notable for it's producer, the late Joey Ramone who also sang on one of the tracks and acted as the band's manager.
