The nominees for the 2006 Indie Awards at the upcoming Canadian Music Week have been announced. Bands nominated in various categories include Comeback Kid, Constantines, Controller.Controller, Death From Above 1979, Metric, Bedouin Soundclash, A Perfect Murder, Sum 41, the Deadly Snakes, Elliott Brood, Arcade Fire, Broken Social Scene, FemBots, the New Pornographers, Boys Night Out, Wolf Parade, City and Colour with Dallas Green, Protest The Hero, Cursed and Black Mountain.

Smallman / Victory act Comeback Kid is also on the shortlist for the CBC's Galaxie Rising Stars Award. at the upcoming 2006 Canadian Music Week. The award nominees were selected based on artistic merit rather than album sales by music journalists from print, television, radio and online media sources, who were asked to list their top 10 Canadian independent releases of 2005.
