On February 22nd the Vibrators will celebrate their 30th anniversary as a band with a show at the Underworld in Camden. The Avengers and the Briefs will support. The band is now a three piece with original guitarist / vocalist Ian "Knox" Carnochan, and drummer Eddie along with Pete from Finnish act No Direction.
Following select UK festival dates and one-off shows in March and April the Vibrators will head to Canada for a May tour.
Earlier in the year the Vibrators announced that they had finished a record of '77 punk covers titled Punk, The Early Years. It includes covers of a number of classic songs, including tracks by the Clash, the Damned, Ramones, Sex Pistols, the Undertones and more. The band's recording of the Dead Boys' "Sonic Reducer" featuring Wayne Kramer of the MC5 on vocals, while the version of Motorhead's "Vibrator" features Leonard from the Dickies. The CD will be released in North America on March 14th via Cleopatra and in UK on Plastic Head.
