Anti-Flag have released a new track from their upcoming full length, For Blood and Empire which is due out soon from RCA. It follows The Terror State in 2003 and Death of a Nation in 2004.
The track was released exclusively to political action organization, After Downing Street Coalition who are pushing for more studies to be done on Depleted Uranium, a powerful component of ordnance, tank, and naval artillery rounds that are used by the militiary of United States, United Kingdom, Israel, France, China, Russia,
Some scientists have argued that Depleted Uranium causes kidney damage in large doses and has proven to cause reproductive, neurological, and immunological harm in mammals. Some attribute "Gulf War Syndrome" to toxicity in the weapon material.
Anti-Flag vocalist Justin Sane had this to say:
Depleted Uranium is our Agent Orange and it will impact people's lives for decades. We can not wait for the media, we must take action and let others know about depleted uranium as quickly as possible. We are excited to work with the After Downing Street Coalition to release the song, 'Depleted Uranium Is A War Crime.' We do so in order to call this issue to the attention of the American people and to force Congress to investigate the silent and invisible killer that the pentagon is unleashing on the people of Iraq, US service men and women, and the world, through their deployment of Depleted Uranium munitions.
You can find the song on the organizations website.
The band and the organization are urging people to fill out this petition to urge congress to pass The Depleted Uranium Munitions Study Act to encourage further study of the munition and the risks to both civilians and the military.
