The lineup has been announced for the 2006 edition of Lollapalooza . Like last year, the 2006 edition will be a two day event at Chicago, IL's Grant Park from August 4th to 6th in Grant Park in Chicago
The 2006 edition includes a variety of acts including Sparta, the Smoking Popes, Subways, New Amsterdams, Mates of State, Hold Steady, Cursive, Revered Horton Heat, the New Pornographers, Broken Social Scene, The M's, Jeremy Enigk (ex-Sunny Day Real Estate), Ween and Sonic Youth adding up to 78 bands confirmed so far and more expected in the coming weeks.
Lollapalooza was originally formed in 1991 by Janes Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell. Though eventually it could not sustain itself as a travelling festival, the show boasted a variety of acts from the Rollins Band, to Rage Against the Machine, Green Day, Beastie Boys, Pavement, Rancid and even one of the last tours from the Ramones.
