Rainer Maria has released some new streams from their fifth full-length, entitled Catastrophe Keeps Us Together.
The album will see a release through the recently formed Grunion label on April 4th, acting as the label's premiere release. The majority of the record was produced by the Grammy Award-winning Malcolm Burn, whose resumé includes the likes of Bob Dylan, Iggy Pop and Patti Smith. Two songs on the record were handled by Peter Katis (Denali, the National).
You can check out three songs in two formats here: "Catastrophe (Real)," "Cities Above (Real)," "Life of Leisure (Real)," "Catastrophe (Windows Media)," "Cities Above (Windows Media)" and "Life of Leisure (Windows Media),"
The band had previously released a multitude of albums through Polyvinyl, most recently including 2004's live CD/DVD set, Anyone in Love With You (Already Knows), and their last proper full-length, 2003's Long Knives Drawn.
The group is also planning a tour to begin on April 20th, 2006 in Washington, D.C.
