Pitchfork Media is reporting that the Slits have reformed. The `77 era punk act featuring Ari Up, Viv Albertine, and Tessa Pollitt will regroup for a pair of shows in May. The groups shows will reportedly be mixed live by producer Adrian Sherwood of UK dub label On-U Sound Records. According to Pitchfork he's also slated to produce a new Slits record, the first since 1981's Return of the Giant Slits (the never released in the US follow up to the `79's renown Cut).
The band will appear on May 3rd in Dublin, Ireland at the Crawdaddy. They'll be supported by Twincranes with Skinny Wolves DJs spinning between sets. The second show will take place the day after in Berlin, Germany at the Festsaal Kreuzberg.
