The Warped Tour will soon begin an auction for special tickets with proceeds to benefit Leukemia, Cancer and Aids Research. The auctioned tickets will allow fans to bid for tickets to watch their selected band from the stage itself.
All proceeds from the Vans Warped Tour ticket auctions will benefit the life saving research conducted at The Mayo Clinic, Memorial Sloan-Kettering, Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, and others. In 2005, The T. J. Martell Foundation's Vans Warped Tour Ticket Auctions generated $11,000.00 in funding.
The Auctions will begin on April 17, 2006, when ten pairs of tickets with accompanying stage access passes for the first ten tour dates will be posted to eBay as Seven-Day, No Reserve Auctions. Ten additional pairs of tickets with stage passes, for each additional ten tour dates will again be posted to eBay on April 24, May 1, May 8, and May 15, 2006.
For the Cincinnati, Ohio date, all auction proceeds will be donated to Bradley Andress, bassist of the up-and-coming Cincinnati-based rock band Close To Home who, at only 20-years old, was diagnosed in February 2006 with life-threatening lung cancer.
