New York City's legendary Television have announced a show in Toronto this summer as part of the NXNE Bonus Concert Series. The band's Marquee Moon line up of Tom Verlaine, Billy Ficca, Richard Lloyd and Fred Smith will perform at the Phoenix Concert Theatre on Friday, June 9th.
Earlier this year it was announced that vocalist / guitarist Tom Verlaine signed to Thrill Jockey Records for the spring release of two new albums. April 25th will see two releases, the instrumental Around and a singer-songwriter effort titled Songs and Other Things. Around follows up 1992's Warm and Cool and features the Television drummer Billy Ficca. Songs and Other Things is Verlaine's first vocal album since 1990's The Wonder. It features a number of performers including Television bassist Fred Smith. You can preview the songs "Orbit" and "The Day On You" via Thrill Jockey.
