The Draft have finished recording their debut album with Brian McTernan and have attached a September 12th release date to the project. Bassist Jason Black recently posted this update to the band's new website:
Firstly, and definitely most importantly, we finished our record. Its not too shabby if we do say so ourselves. Between you and me, it freaking rules, but I hate it when bands go on about how "you're not going to know what hit you when you hear blah blah blah." If you do find yourself dazed and elated upon first listen, however, don't say I didn't warn you. If you think its a steaming pile of crap, you're entitled to your opinion. Your opinion just happens to be wrong. Ha! Seriously, we are really stoked on the songs and the sounds. We tracked 15 tunes total and haven't really figured out how many are going to make it on the record just yet.Brian once again outdid himself working hard and putting up with us. Todd ripped some serious solos and some serious wind, too. Once we whittle down what's going to be on the record for sure, we're mixing it up and mastering it in early June to get it ready for its scheduled September 12th release date via the 'Taph. No title just yet, but we're getting there on that, too. Aside from this here tour with our buds Avail and the upcoming rock with The Trio and The Larry Arms, we don't have too much going on until the record comes out. We may pop up on Warped for a couple of dates, and something else may pop up, like a weasel or some more shows, but nothing has yet… It is very relieving and invigorating for us to have finished the record and to get out and rock the shackles of the old band right off.
The band recently embarked on a U.S. tour with Avail and Pink Razors.
