According to Billboard, Rude Boy, the 1980 film starring members of The Clash is finally set to be released on DVD on North America.

The fictional documentary centers around a disillusioned sex shop worker, played by Ray Gange, who quits his job to roadie for the Clash in 1978. The musical footage was filmed during the band's Clash on Patrol and Sort It Out tours of the United Kingdom. The script includes actual public events of the day, including political demonstrations and Clash concerts.

While a PAL (Europe/Asia) DVD was released in 2004, the upcoming edition will be packaged with many bonus features including performances of "English Civil War" and "White Riot" that never made the original film, plus versions of "Clash City Rockers" and "Tommy Gun" recorded on the BBC's Something Else show.

The disc will also feature interviews with writer/star Gange, filmmakers Jack Hazan and David Mingay and Clash road manager Johnny Green, four deleted scenes, the original theatrical trailer and a photo gallery.

The DVD is due out August 1st via Epic/Sony.
