Valiant Death Records have sent us an update with some of their releases on the horizon.
First up is Ghost Mice's first LP release, Fairy Battle. The LP collects songs from the duo's splits with Saw Wheel, Rymodee of This Bike is a Pipe Bomb and Pretty Hot, the latter of which we reviewed recently. The artwork for the LP was designed by Ghost Mouse Chris Clavin.
Wax & Wane will be re-releasing their 2004 debut album Winter. The band is recommended for fans of folkin the vein of Cat Stevens, Microphones/Mt. Eerie, Sufjan Stevens, Little Wings, and Neutral Milk Hotel and the album is described by the Baltimore City Paper as "nine kinda creepy song snapshots, like blurry Polaroids full of spring colors and smiling faces and something just not quite right about them." Russ Substance, of Gordan Gano's Army, recently released The Safest Place To Hide A Book. The album features twelve songs in the vein of Billy Bragg and early Bob Dylan. He is currently touring the U.S.A., you can find details at At The Library Records' tour page.
The label recently posted a free online sampler featuring tracks from these releases.
