Trustkill Records has launched a new Get Active! section on their website. Due to the large amount of traffic the website generates, the label decided to put it toward a good cause by giving visitors easy access to donate to charities. Label president Josh Grabelle explains Trustkill's actions:
When I first started going to hardcore shows in the late 80s and early 90s, a lot of the bands were politically active, and wore their stances and opinions on their sleeves. In the early days of Trustkill some of our bands expressed their politics in their lyrics (Endeavor, Racetraitor, etc), and this is an outlet I did not want to lose sight of.
Trustkill chose five charities in specific to support: ASPCA, Doctors Without Borders, Greenpeace, Musicians on Call, and PETA 2. The section of the site also lists several Trustkill bands and the charities and non-profits they support, with a brief description and a link to the organizations' websites. Josh explains,
It is important to know and learn the personalities of bands today by knowing what organizations and non-profits the band members themselves support, regardless of whether they sing about them in their songs. I feel closer to my bands, and other bands, when I know who they are as PEOPLE.
Among the bands to choose charities to support on the site is Bleeding Through. The band chose Comic Relief, National Hopeline Network, National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA), and Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network (RAINN). Additionally, This is Hell, who the label signed in December, chose CancerCare and Support Shirts.
