According to NME, former Gorillaz and current Blur frontman Damon Albarn has formed a new project with Clash bassist Paul Simonon as well as members of the Verve.
The band, signed to Parlophone/EMI has already recorded their debut, a concept record about life in London, titled The Good The Bad And The Queen. The first single is expected in October and the album is due out early 2007. The group will also make their live debut at the BBC's Electric Proms season at revamped Camden venue The Roundhouse this October.
This new band is only the second post-Clash project for Simonon, who had a short-lived project called Havana 3am. Since then, he has been concentrating on his work as a visual artist. Simonon was immortalized by the classic image which adorned the equally classic London Calling.
