It was announced yesterday that Ferret Records has inked a partnership with the Independent Label Group (ILG), which consists of Warner Music Group, Asylum Records, East/West Records and Cordless Recordings. The agreement gives Ferret access to ILG's resources and infrastructure, including "individualized marketing and promotion services."
Todd Moscowitz, President of ILG had this to say about the pairing: "We are confident this partnership will further redefine the way ILG works to empower independent artists and music executives not only in recorded music, but in publishing, touring, artist management and merchandising, as well," while Ferret CEO Carl Severson stated that "This is a new step for us that will enable us to step up all our efforts for our bands and present them with even more opportunities. We're building a home that our artists will feel comfortable being a part of for years to come."
Bands that are currently signed to the label include In Flames, Every Time I Die, Boys Night Out, Madball and Zao. The label was started in 1996 by Severson and served as the starting point for bands like Killswitch Engage, Converge and From Autumn To Ashes.
