Just a few months after signing a "long-term distribution pact" with Victory Records, indie label Lobster Records has switched to the Lumberjack Mordam Music Group.
Steve Lubarsky of Lobster had this to say:
Lumberjack Mordam represents an elite group of labels, a cutting edge blend of today's best young artists.
The label has new releases scheduled from Mock Orange and recent signings First to Leave and Anchors for Arms.
Lobster Records (Santa Barbara, CA) was established in 1996 by Steve Lubarsky and Shawn Dewey (Lagwagon) as a vehicle to release Shawn's band Buck Wild, distributed by Lagwagon's label, Fat Wreck Chords (San Francisco, CA). Shawn left the label in 1999. Mr. Lubarsky was joined by designer Michael Johansen who formed the label as it is known today.
