The Decemberists have posted a new track from their upcoming major label debut.

The band will soon release their first full length debut for Capitol Records. The album is thematically based on a tragic Japanese folk tale, but band leader Colin Meloy promises a fair dose of rock'n'roll, rape, murder and violence as well. The band recorded with Death Cab For Cutie's Chris Walla. The album, titled The Crane Wife is due out October 3rd and follows their Kill Rock Stars release, Picaresque.
