San Francisco's Black Furies have called it quits after 5 years together as a band. Vocalist Cliff Truesdell commented on the band's time together:
Michael and I started this band with pretty low expectations. We wanted to have a good time, maybe play some gigs. Mostly we just wanted to keep playing music after our last band imploded. 5 years later we're looking back at 3 CDs, more gigs than we can remember, hearing our songs on the radio and the TV, more f'in' hours in the back of a van than I can possibly count and maybe the coolest thing of all - gigs with a lot of bands we considered heroes and influences. So we had a great time, we did a whole lot more than we ever expected to and we're really proud of what we accomplished. We just want to say a big THANK YOU to all of the people who helped us out along the way.
Black Furies most recently released Death Trip Saturday Night on Gearhead Records. During the band's time together they shared the stage with Radio Birdman, Angry Samoans, D.O.A., the Dickies, the Supersuckers, the Dwarves and many others.
