Corrupted Youth's Brandon Free has decided to leave the band, with a break-up of the Thurmont, MD act as the impending consequence.
Free cited a need to focus on his art and career as a tattoo artist. "I've always wanted to do something with this and have recently got the chance to push on with it," he added in a blog posting on the band's MySpace page. As his posting is a little unclear as to whether he is simply leaving or the band is breaking up, we've boldfaced a sentence that seems to rather clearly state the band's demise.
The band self-released A Sentiment Half of Horror this past Halloween.
Dear fans, friends and everyone who has always been there,
This is Brandon Free informing you that, I have decided to to leave the band, I know it is a Sad, sad day and it breaks my heart to say this but I feel I need to focus on my art and my carreer as a tattoo artist, I've always wanted to do something with this and have recently got the chance to push on with it. I feel for the past months I've not been giving my all in this band, I'd like to thank RJ for all his hard work with everything he's always done, it means a lot to me that he believed in what I wanted to do with this music and he has always been there to either pay for it or direct the motion when maybe I felt discouraged. And I'd like to thank Alan for his hard work and efforts with us this past year, he's brought my work to life with his skill and drive, without that I don't think i'd be this happy. This has been an on going discission between myself and I just think I'd like to call it a day at my happiest point. The new record means a lot to me and I hope it means a lot to everyone who has been there for the last 7 years supporting us through all our best and worst times, think of this record as the soundtrack to us burying the body of this band. I don't know what else to say and I hope everyone forgives me for this choice I've made, I just feel as if I've been holding my friends back while I worry to sickness that things will never be alright, I am happy about everything we've done and sad about giving up on this but it's something I need to do for myself and I from the bottom of my heart appreciate everything that has every been given to me, EVERYTHING. One more time I want to thank, our fans, the people that always come to our shows in this town or all over the country..I worship every one of you that bought a record, wore a shirt, a pin or a sticker in support of what we've created, thank you to everyone who has always been there. And thank you to my band who has always pushed hard to make this what is was. And so everyone knows, we're friends there are no hard feelings and we've enjoyed everything we've done together it's just time for me to move on.
I'm sorry this was so long and you probably didn't want to read it, but I really do appreciate everything from everyone and I hope you understand. Thank you.
Brandon
