An art auction begins next week on Ebay to raise money to help Crass repay the debts incurred in purchasing the Dial House. The Dial House is where the band has lived for over thirty years use as a local community center. Located in the Essex countryside, the house has become a symbol of opposition to commercialism in England. The house was completely renovated to include studios, print-rooms, a rehersal space, workshops, and an organic garden which allowed the residents to be largely self-sufficient. The Dial House has been a cultural community centre with interests ranging from "organic gardening to free-form jazz, from herbal remedies to direct action on the street." Artists, musicians and others have donated artwork for the auction. The auction will run from November 21st to December 1st on ebay.co.uk.
