: Heres the story. MCD are a larg booking agent in Ireland. They put on everyone from N*Sync to Bryan Adams. Lately, they've been trying to muscle in on the punk scene in Ireland by booking bands like The Vandals and Propagandhi. Just to give you an example of whats wrong with this: They booked Propagandhi last month. Tickets were £16.50 (about $20 american). ALL punk gigs here are under £7 ($8 US). They did absolutely no advertising whatsoever, not one flier, not one poster, they knew word would get around amongst the punks and they would still make a profit. Loads of irish punks complained directly to Propagandhi, who asked MCD to step out, which they graciously did. They then made an offer under the name "Straight" promising lower ticket prices and such, Propagandhi accepted, thinking it was a different promoter, and went ahead with the gig. The ticket prices stayed the same, and they still used the same asshole bouncers (who threw out many people for dancing, just dancing). When we let Chris know, he got all pissed off and mentioned it on stage, even carrying some Anti-MCD literature on their stand. The reason i'm posting is, we urged Propagandhi to warn the booking agents they know, but it seems MCD have now booked the Mad Caddies.
