Nearly eighteen months since Elijah Wood was confirmed for the title role, Variety has posted some details about the upcoming biopic of noted figure Iggy Pop. According to the report, the movie will be titled The Passenger. The title comes from a track of the same name from Iggy's 1977 solo album, Lust for Life.

The film will follow Pop's early years with the Stooges and will be directed by Nick Gomez ("Drowning Mona") from a script by Eric Schmidt. The film has a budget of $6 to $8 million dollars and Pop has "given his blessing" to the project but will not take part in it,

The Stooges recently released The Weirdness. The record was released March 20 via Virgin Records and marks the seminal band's first proper release in almost 34 years.
