Dillinger Escape Plan have made some announcements about their upcoming full length as well as the departure of founding drummer Chris Pennie. As rumoured, Pennie left the band to join Coheed and Cambria. The band confirmed the departure indirectly, by omitting Pennie's name from the lineup for the record.
The new lineup also confirms the role of drummer Gil Sharone. According to Gil's biography, he has previously performed live with acts like Fishbone, Dave Wakeling of The English Beat, HR of Bad Brains and others.
The band is continuing work on their next full length which has been titled Ire Works. They will again be working with producer Steve Evetts and a fall release is expected. Both bits of news come in a moment of rare seriousness for the band who explained:
Know that what we are in the process of recording will be everything we have ever been capable of, and now more. This last year, and how we have gotten through it and to the place we are now, will define all of our lives for a long time.We have overcome everything from multiple member changes in the early years, members suffering physical impairment or injury that has made it impossible to continue playing, and financial, physical, personal, and internal problems that many bands would never make it through. We take forever to put out records, and put everything we have into them. T
