Taking Back Sunday has announced the departure of guitarist and co–vocalist Fred Mascherino. On a recent MySpace post the band said the following:

After four great years and two successful gold albums together, Fred has decided to leave Taking Back Sunday to pursue his solo career. We wish him well and we are working on the next Taking Back Sunday album as we speak.

Taking Back sunday wil be releasing their upcoming DVD/CD compilation, The Louder Now Part Two, on November 20. Fred will release Bend to Break, the debut from his new project The Color Fred, on October 30th.
