From G7's website : Well, we're not above admitting mistakes. Actually, we're not really above anything to be honest. But to the point, we were contacted this afternoon by Students Against Sweatshops in Toronto regarding one of our shirt manufacturers Gildan Activewear. CBC's program Disclosure ran a story on Gildan, which basically exposes the working conditions and wages in their Honduras factories. Truly terrible. And the words that come out of their PR person's mouth are laughable. To clarify our position, we have always bought only those shirts from Gildan which were made in Canada (in Montreal), and rejected any orders we received from our supplier which contained Honduras-made shirts. Nonetheless, these profiteers should either either change their practices, or not receive a cent of our (or your) money. Coincidentally (and partially not-coincidentally), we've been orchestrating our move over the past several months to a new line of shirts made by a small progressive business in Ontario with 100% organically grown cotton. We're super excited about this, and are near completion of all the technical details. Caring? Responsibility? Apologies? Goddammit I love this label…
