Jeff Brosenstock has uploaded a whole host of Bomb the Music Industry! demos. The tracks come from their upcoming album, to be recorded sometime after their Asian Man Records tour. You can read Jeff's explanation here, at his MySpace blog and get some background on all the tracks.
One track is titled "9/11 Fever!" and apparently bears some explanation:
So this song does warrant some explaining… I need to stress that it isn't really a political song, per se. It's about how on the 5th anniversary of September 11th there was a lot of weird shit going on… movies, made–for–tv movies, sales, books, articles… it almost felt like the media was just waaaaaiting for the day when they could start capitalizing HARD on this and the opportunity presented itself on that 5th anniversary where it really felt to ME at least, that it wasn't really soon enough to have obnoxious shitty ass movies with celebutards running around trying to drum up some oscar nods. Especially not all at once.I was also in Richmond, VA on this 5–year–anniversary and watching the local news was FUCKING GODDAMN INSANE. The amount of time they showed the footage, the amount of people they showed at stores buying flags, talking about how they are coping with this anniversary but seemingly doing nothing to actually enjoy their lives and the freedoms we are allowed (except for the free speech right to gay–bash or racially profile (which seems to be a lot of rights canceling each other out)) just continuing to keep the same ol' boring as grind going. Whatever. I buy gas too, I eat at fast food joints, we're all part of it sorry ya'll…
And sure fuck it that's fine, that's cool. And that's not really the point, to bash that. It just really fucking freaked me out to see this bizarre thing happening.
You can them all out for a limited time at their MySpace page.
Update: Double trouble! Check out the newly uploaded track "Gang of Four Meets the Stooges" there too. God bless MySpace friend subscriptions.
