from our comrades at Punkbands.Com : Sub City, a division of Hopeless, has announced their current tally of money contributed to charity: $111,385.32. In the span of 3 years and 20 releases, Sub City has donated to 20 organizations - each record benefiting a cause of the bands' choosing -- from Schools for Chiapas, Foundation Fighting Blindness, Women's Justice Center, Prison Radio and 1-800-SUICIDE. Five percent of suggested retail price (70 cents on every album/CD) - gross revenue versus gross profit - so from the first record sold, every release makes a difference regardless of profitability. Sub City also co-sponsors the annual Plea For Peace/Take Action benefit tour, which this year raised over $36,000 for 1-800-SUICIDE, a national crisis hotline.
