Little Low

Listen to the new song by Little Low!

Today we are stoked to bring you the premiere of the new song by Little Low! The song is called “Head Above The Clouds” and is the second single from their upcoming album Sunshine Guilt. Speaking about the track, singer and guitarist Christine Atturio said,

”Anxiety! We’ve all got it these days it seems. I gathered together writings from my phone notes and journals to put this song together.

How the tightness in your chest can feel like a persistent jump scare and how practicing gratitude is great but then you realize you can’t hold onto any moments, that most of what you see and feel gets forgotten.

And how every time I try to control things, when I get too Type A and try to track everything in my life, I start to drown in all that nonsense and lose sight of enjoying life.

Musically this is the most recent song we wrote for the album. It came from a sad little out-of-tune acoustic demo I unearthed in my voice memos from last year. I loved the way the chorus ebbed and flowed so took that and turned it into a full song."

Sunshine Guilt will be out everywhere on May 9 via Sell The Heart Records, Thousand Island Records, and Waterslide Records. You can pre-order it from Sell The Heart Records here or from Thousand Island Records here. Listen to “Head Above The Clouds” below!

Interviews
Mean Bikini

Talking 'This Ain't Gonna End Well…' with Milli of Mean Bikini

Cumberland, British Columbia’s Mean Bikini pour their heart and soul into everything they do and that is extremely apparent on their new album This Ain’t Gonna End Well…. The band’s indomitable energy infuses each of the 13 tracks which find them building on their dynamic punk sound as they take cues from hardcore punk, skate punk, and a hint of surf to create a sound that is uniquely their own. Powerful music needs powerful lyrics and Mean Bikini has those in droves whether they are talking about mental health, shining a light on the worsening state of the world and harmful policies, exploring their experiences with neurodiversity, or celebrating community. No matter how bleak things may seem, Mean Bikini proves that there is a light in the darkness that burns brighter when we come together.

This Ain’t Gonna End Well… is available now via Outhouse Records. You can order a digital copy here and you can pre-order a physical copy here.

Punknews editor Em Moore caught up with lead vocalist Milli Lyman to talk about the new album, harm reduction, neurodiversity, building community, and so much more. Read the interview below!

This interview between Em Moore and Milli Lyman took place on April 4, 2025 over Zoom. This is a transcription of their conversation and has been lightly edited for length and clarity.
