AFI have announced the title for their eighth studio album. The record is titled Crash Love and is expected later this year via Interscope Records. The band and producer Joe McGrath were recently joined at Los Angeles' Conway Studios by the winners of the recent Begin Transmission contest, in which the band members personally went through thousands of fan-made video submissions and chose a handful of entrants to contribute backing vocals to the new album.

The band has also announced its first live performance of 2009, June 20th at Edgefest in Toronto, Canada. Tickets go on sale today and can be found here.
