On the heels of the release of Guitar Hero: Metallica, Activision has confirmed the development of Guitar Hero: Van Halen which will focus on Van Halen but also "related" bands. In the case of Metallica, the game featured music from Foo Fighters, Mastodon, Samhain, Slayer, Social Distortion, Suicidal Tendencies, System of a Down, The Sword and Corrosion of Conformity.

In the case of the forthcoming Van Halen game, Billboard reports that the game will include music from Queen, Weezer, Blink 182, The Offspring and Queens of the Stone Age.

The game company has also confirmed that they will continue to expand on the Hero games with the release of Guitar Hero 5, Band Hero and DJ Hero.
