The members of U.K. rock outfit A were unharmed in a violent gun attack Sunday following a performance in Coventry, England. According to a spokesperson for the group's U.K. label London Records, the group had left the venue when it was shot at by a man with an air-rifle aiming from the seventh floor of a nearby building. Fortunately, band members managed to dive into a vehicle and avoid injury.
Trouble had flared up earlier in the day when the same man threatened both band and crew as they attempted to unload equipment prior to the gig. Two local kids also attempted to break into the band's vehicle by threatening the driver at knifepoint. The attacks were not isolated; as opening act the Beatsteaks was pelted with bricks as its tour bus pulled into the venue.
A is touring in support of its third album, "Hi-Fi Serious," which is due July 16 via Hollywood in North America. Its latest single, "Starbucks," is No. 20 on the U.K. singles chart this week. The band plays London's Forum tonight (May 29).
