According to the Asian Man Records newsletter, Smoking Popes are currently holed up inside Atlas Studios with producer Matt Allison working on their next full-length. A release is expected later this year, and once out it'll follow up 2008's Stay Down, though in the interim the band released a compilation entitled It's Been a Long Day.

Also expected later this year through Asian Man are reissues of the Popes' first two full-lengths, 1993's Get Fired and 1994's Born to Quit. The band will be performing at Insubordination Fest in June.
