Hello everybody and welcome to Navel Gazing: your look back at the week in Punknews. I'm Bryne Yancey, filling in for Adam White as he and much of the Punknews.org staff are currently in Las Vegas for Punk Rock Bowling, presumably rolling an inordinate amount of gutter balls between losing all of the money in our massive bank account at the blackjack tables. I'll be your guide through some of the most popular, notable, and otherwise attention getting stories of the past seven days. Each and every Punknews story is built from tips contributed by you fine folks, and here's what got the community talking this week:
- Against Me! unveiled their new video for "I was a Teenage Anarchist"
- A vinyl release of Red City Radio's 2009 EP was detailed
- For what it's worth, Green Day, The Offspring, AFI and Foo Fighters all made Billboard's list of the Top 50 Rock Artists of the 2000s
- Swingin' Utters announced a tour and plans for a new record, their first in seven years
- Seminal DIY label Plan-It-X Records is calling it quits, with the founders moving on to new, to-be-determined ventures
- The Lawrence Arms announced a hometown benefit show
- Kris Roe of The Ataris was in an auto accident and canceled a show in San Francisco
- Lagwagon added another member of RKL to its ranks (this time bassist Joe Raposo) and announced plans to tour
With that we hand over this Sunday evening to you, the Punknews community. From that glorious, likely bearded rabble we've seen the creation of everything from message boards and Punknews fantasy sports leagues to even a band or two. So talk amongst yourselves and we'll see you Monday…
