On the heels of revelations about the contents of Guitar Hero 6 comes some information about the upcoming third iteration of Rock Band. It is the first sequel to the series since Rock Band 2 in 2008. In the intervening years, the makers of the game developed mobile versions and also games themed around The Beatles and Green Day. In this new iteration, the biggest change is the addition of keyboards which will allow for a greater variety of music. The producers have also unveiled a sampling of the track listing though many more songs will be added before the release later in the year.

So far Metric, Them Crooked Vultures, The Vines, Phoenix, Juanes, Ida Maria, Rilo Kiley, The White Stripes, Jane's Addiction, Spacehog, Stone Temple Pilots, Smash Mouth, Ozzy Osbourne, Whitesnake, Joan Jett, The Cure, Dio, Huey Lewis and the News, Night Ranger, Queen, The Doors and Jimi Hendrix have been confirmed.
