"Polyvinyl Records is pleased to announce the signing of a new band, Champaign's THE RED HOT VALENTINES. RHV, a 5 piece power pop outfit (think Fountains Of Wayne meets The Cars) have been turning heads in Illinois for the last year sharing the stage with such acts as Superdrag, Nada Surf, Alkaline Trio, and Ultimate Fakebook. The 'Valentines have released a self titled full length album in February in addition to a split EP with Chicago's Retro Morning released on Double Zero Records (currently resting comfortably at #114 on the CMJ charts). They will be heading into Pogo Studios at the end of August to record a 3 song EP with Mark Rubel (Hum, Shiner) and will be returning to the studio in December to record a full length LP for Spring release."
