According to a NME report, Mick Jones and Paul Simonon of The Clash are working on a new biopic about the recording of their classic 1979 double album, London Calling. The pair are working as executive producers for the film, which is being written by playwright Jez Butterworth and produced by Alison Owen, mother of Lily Allen.

The film is expected to begin shooting in 2011 and cast confirmations are expected soon.
