Hello everyone and welcome to Navel Gazing: your look back in the week in Punknews. I'm Bryne Yancey and I'll be your guide through some of the juiciest, most popular and otherwise noteworthy stories from the last seven days. Remember, every Punknews story is built from tips from our wonderful, good-looking readers, so get to submitting. Here's what got the strange, slow and old community talking this week:
- Armenian police began targeting "emo kids" after the suicides of two teenagers rumored to be a part of the popular subculture.
- Due to a massive blizzard on the east coast of the United States, The Bouncing Souls postponed their "Home For The Holidays" shows until February.
- Video of Hot Water Music, The Bouncing Souls, Dave Hause collaborating onstage in Brisbane, Australia surfaced, sending many folks into an envious tizzy.
- In what is assumed to be an effort to separate themselves from confusion with the New York City-based black metal group of the same name, Chicago, IL outfit Castevet changed their name to CSTVT.
- Finally, we revealed Best of 2010 lists from our editorial staff as well as the all-important, staff-wide Punknews' Best of 2010 list, which provoked much conversation, elation and ire.
With that, we hand over this Sunday evening to the Punknews community, where anything is possible, from the next amusing-then-overwrought meme, to the creation of bands and message boards, to alienating sports chatter. So talk amongst yourselves and we'll see you Monday morning, where we'll hit the ground running in 2011.
