ABC No Rio's HC/Punk Collective presents Punk Island 2011, Make Music New York's day-long punk fest on Governors Island on Sunday, June 19. Like other MMNY events, all performances are outdoor and absolutely free.
Music starts at 11 a.m. and 8 stages will run simultaneously until 5 p.m. Ferries will run between the Island and Manhattan (Battery Park) and the Island and Brooklyn (DUMBO) every half hour. Committed to a vision of punk that expresses positive outrage, organizers have each stage showcasing a specific activist group. There will also be an expanded vendor section for distros and tabling.
